Explore Sri Lanka's Negombo Seaside

Sri Lanka is definitely an island filled with gorgeous beaches and excellent beach weather throughout every season. The area can be found in the Indian Sea, separated from India through the Palk Strait. Sri Lanka is presently going through rapid development, but it still remains an exotic paradise. Since the end of the civil war, the area has rapidly become the most popular holiday locations in the world. However, it's not overcrowded with vacationers like a number of other popular holiday spots. At the moment, travelers can choose from a range of terrific beaches throughout the country.

A few of the country's best beaches are around the western coast, in Negombo. The town lies in the mouth from the Negombo Lagoon, roughly 38 kms north from the Hawaiian Islands capital, Colombo, and 7 kms from the Bandaranaike Airport Terminal. Because it is so near the airport terminal, many travelers visit it. The Negombo beach might not be as common as the other beaches further towards the south. However, it is still worth going to. The golden sands are fringed by coconut trees and the water is generally a brilliant shade of blue.

Even though many beaches here are dotted with hotels, there are still undeveloped stretches of land. You will find some excellent reefs and can even go to the Kudapaduwa, a fifty-year old shipwreck that now serve as a man-made reef. The waters are filled with seafood, and something may even charter a fishing trip.

Enjoy your vacations with great savings on airfares to Sri Lanka. Negombo is really a vacation town with many tourist destinations. It hosts Sri Lanka's 2nd biggest seafood market plus many historic structures, where many of them remains from the time Negombo is a Nederlander colony. A lot of the fort built in the Nederlander in 1672 still stands and you can still find centuries old places of worship and administrative structures.
